Things to do
We live in an area rich with history, the town of Xativa has one of the finest medieval forts in Spain, dominating the valley for miles around. It is here that the Moors retreated to when the Barbarians (from the Barbary Coast. N Africa) used to invade the Iberian Peninsula in search of women and slaves. All the little forts along the coast were merely to spot the invading ships and give the populace time to get away, it seems to have worked because we still have plenty of moorish ethnicity in the area, the fort is well worth a visit.

The Spanish are very big on cycling, every weekend see's them out in droves, cycling up to the mountains or down to the coast, one of our sons who also cycles tells me that the roads are extremely cyclist friendly. Bikes can be hired at very reasonable weekly rates from several hire shops in Valencia and elsewhere.

For those who just want to chill out on the beach then we have blue flag beaches just thirty minutes away from our property and they stretch for hundreds of miles along the Meditteranean coastline, every little beach has it's own beach bar and restaurant within a few metres of the sand, if not right on it, and they all have their own flavour.

If its culture you are after then Valencia has to be one of the nicest cities in Spain. We had the 'America's Cup' here in 2007 and in 2008 we are hosting the newest Grand Prix. The race will be a street race in Valencia similar to that in Monaco and should be a sight to behold. Motor cycling fans are not left out, there are regular m/cycle race weekends in Valencia. If you like eating out there are thousands of cafes, bars and restaurants to choose from with cuisine from all over the world. Valencia has representatives of all the major fashion shops and boutiques, dozens of cinemas, bowling alleys, and every other form of entertainment you can think up.

To get to Valencia could not be easier, either drive in with your car and use the extensive parking facilities there, or, if you think you might imbibe a little, leave the car at home with us and we will drop you off at the local station to go right into the centre of Valencia on the Metro for a cost of about 5 Euros return.

Other things to do are too numerous to mention here but they include paragliding, bunjee jumping, white water rafting, the list is endless
